Sonic and the Secret Rings on the Wii is a strong entry in the Sonic franchise. Sega still makes a few mistakes here and there, thus not allowing this to be the perfect 3d Sonic game, but the game's great sense of speed helps it succeed in being a good installment nonetheless.

If there is one genre of games that has been grossly under served on the current generation of consoles it is Kart Racing. Quality titles are few and far between despite the fact that the standard bearer for the genre is exclusive to the Wii. Actually, I'd say there are no quality Kart Racers on any non-Nintendo console. Sega, Capcom and others have already stated that they will no longer be bringing 'mature' titles to the Wii, however a new survey taken from over 800 game developers also shows signs that Wii is losing support...

Sega made a surprising announcement today that everyone's favorite fast-paced marsupial Sonic the Hedgehog is finally returning to where he belongs - in two-dimensions.
This summer "Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Episode 1" will launch on Nintendo Wii, Microsoft Xbox 360, Sony Playstation 3 consoles as well as one unnamed platform as a download-only game.

Thank you Sega. You had all of us Nintendo fans worried. Project Needlemouse, now revealed as Sonic the Hedgehog 4, is coming to WiiWare this summer. It will run like a 2D game with 3D visuals and the music will be similar to what the retro Sonic games had but with a modern flavor.

It's funny how things change. In the Wii's three-year lifespan, a stonking 22 games have been published by Sega including the likes of House Of The Dead: Overkill, Sega Superstars Tennis, MadWorld, Sonic Unleashed, Let's Tap, The Conduit and Mario & Sonic At The Olympic Games. First impressions would lead you to believe the game is a 2.5D version of Sega’s Astro Boy: Omega Factor on the Game Boy Advance. First impressions can be deceiving and in this case they are. Astro boy feature’s both beat em’ up and shoot ‘em up sections; the latter of which being quite enjoyable but only making up about a quarter of the game.
