With all three home consoles supporting motion control in one way or another it's certainly odd that PC gaming has yet to adopt the technology. Traditionally, PC gaming is the platform others look to emulate but in the current generation of Wii remotes, Sixaxis controllers, and Project Natal, gesture-based gaming on the PC remains untouched.

ZodTTD has released an N64 emulator which also boasts of Wiimote support via Bluetooth. The n64iphone emulator is available in Cydia for $2.50 but this doesn't include the ROMs. if you like this article, you may want to subscribe and follow me on Twitter Read more:

Last month, ZodTTD, the guy who basically pioneered game emulation on the iPhone, promised us an N64 emulator. Today, that's exactly what he's delivered, with a bonus: Wiimote support, via Bluetooth.

So this guy on YouTube has some gameplay of New Super Mario Bros. Wii running through a PC emulator called Dolphin. The footage has some obvious audio hiccups and the video freezes at 1:10 until 1:18. Beautiful nonetheless.

Using a Wii version of the open source DOS emulator DOSbox, a Wii homebrew devotee has managed to get Windows 95 running on the console -- if your definition of "running" is "working, but just barely." In fact, the boot process spans most of two YouTube videos, which the author admits have been edited for brevity.

No, the Wii unfortunately can't run games in resolutions higher than 480p, a sad fact for audio/visual connoisseurs. But in this fantastical age of technological wizardry and workarounds, that doesn't mean we can't have a glimpse of what could have been.
