Ben Heck and his credentials in video game console hacks are beyond question, there’s no way he has left a reason to impress us. His mods are sublime, we just know that, and this latest portable Atari 800 laptop he’s built is perhaps the best we think we’ve seen from him (hard to compare though, coz all of them are just so greatly built). Ben has had two takes on the Atari 800 previously, but this third revision is a result that lives the real spirit of the original 8-bit machine the best.

Don’t we all love the classic Nintendo and it’s 8 bit glory? This main built his own tabletop arcade setup for the NES which allows him to emulate NES games on Windows. The system can also serve as a regular PC by hooking up a keyboard and mouse. If you’re interested in build your own arcade, you can buy the joystick and buttons pretty cheap on eBay . Heck you could even make an illuminated joystick if you want. Don’t miss all of our arcade style NES and Atari Hacks : Ma

Viva! [ Valeu, Brian! ]

Sorry, straight-edgers. Continuing our theme of " Pot Hacks March ," loyal reader Brian sent in his creation, a pipe made out of an Atari 2600 controller. Doesn't look like there's any water in the pipe, and there's no way it's still functional, but any and all McGuyvering of marginally illegal substances must be championed. So, um, champion! [ Thanks, Brian! ]

Lol, an Atari Joystick Lamp!?! Yes, if you will retro-fit your livingroom, you will definitely look cool among your peers. Great job on the instructables. I wanted to make something to enter into the Craftsman contest that would be challenging for me to make, but really cool and unique to have once it was finished. This was what I came up with. via gizmodo Brought to you by: Zedomax.com Bed DIY - How to Make your Own Atari Joystick Lamp! A+Featured DIYs, A+Featured Hacks, atari joystick,
