People are always doing mods for old Atari 2600's, making them video controller, MIDI-implemented and more, but this might be our favorite mod we've seen. This Atari 2600 is a full blown synth with some awesome controls. It may prove difficult to get your hands on one, but we're certainly on the lookout now that we've seen this.

We have seen quite a few different mods featuring everyone’s favourite droid R2-D2 on Geeky Gadgets, the latest one features R2-D2 with 8 different games consoles stuffed inside him and a total of 20 game controllers connected too him. The mod was made using an R2-D2 cooler, I suppose it is now put to better use housing all the games consoles instead of keeping the owners beer cool. I’m not sure why this R2-D2 has 8 video game consoles built into its innards, but I still like it. Maybe it’s just the very fact that I’ve never seen an R2 unit with more than 20 game controllers connected to its front, or maybe it’s just the sheer absurdity of the thing that has me captivated. Atari 2600 Mod with Built in Screen on Console Ever wished you could take your old Atari 2600 with you when you travel?
